The Bosnia and Herzegovina Directorate of Civil Aviation (BHDCA) hosted the 6th meeting of the Functional Airspace Block Central Europe (FAB CE) Council on Thursday, 18 October 2012.

The FAB CE Council, chaired by Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2012, was established as a joint decision-making body for the purposes of implementation, functioning and further development of this Functional block.

The meeting focused primarily on analysing the activities carried out so far in establishing the FAB CE, which is to be established by 4 December 2012 at the latest (pursuant to EU Regulation 550/2004 which has been transposed by BIH into the Regulation on the provision of air navigation services in the Single European Sky).

In this meeting, which was held in Banja Luka, the FAB CE Council adopted documents which create arrangements for the full establishment of FAB CE, and Member States presented their respective reports on the ratification of the FAB CE Agreement in their countries.

As part of the FAB CE establishment process, BHDCA has transposed EU Regulation 176/2011 into the Regulation on the information to be submitted prior to the establishment and implementation of the functional airspace block, while the ratification process of the Agreement has reached its final phase.

The FAB CE Council meeting in Banja Luka was attended by representatives of the aviation authorities and air navigation service providers from all FAB CE Member States – Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
