The Bosnia and Herzegovina Directorate of Civil Aviation issued on 19 October 2023 approval to the Montenegrin air operator "ToMontenegro" to conduct operations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands, and between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey.
Flights between B&H and the Netherlands will take place from the airports in Tuzla and Maastricht, while flights between B&H and Turkey will take place from the airports in Tuzla and Istanbul, respectively.
On Friday, 6 October 2023, the Tuzla Airport approached the Bosnia and Herzegovina Directorate of Civil Aviation with a request for designation of the operator "ToMontenegro" to conduct operations from this airport to several EU countries. On Monday, 9 October 2023, the BHDCA sent an official request to the aviation authorities of the following EU countries (Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg and Austria), to which the operator "ToMontenegro" intended to carry out operations from Bosnia and Herzegovina, asking whether those countries would accept the designation that would be issued by the BHDCA to the operator "ToMontenegro".
Referring to the ECAA agreement, the BHDCA has received only two positive responses so far - from the Netherlands and Turkey, on the basis of which the BHDCA approvals were issued. Negative responses have so far been received from the civil aviation authorities of Sweden, Denmark, Austria and Germany, while a response from Luxembourg is pending.
