European Commission Air Transport Experts Working Visit to BIH

A European Commission Delegation for Air Transport paid a working visit to the Bosnia and Herzegovina Directorate of Civil Aviation from 11 to 13 October 2010 with the aim of reviewing the progress in implementing the Multilateral Agreement on the European Common Aviation Area – the ECAA Agreement.
During the three-day visit to BIH, the European Commission experts met with representatives of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Directorate of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Communications and Transport of BIH, International Airport Sarajevo, ATCs Banja Luka and Sarajevo, Competition Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and with representatives of the “BH Airlines” and foreign air carriers operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The assessment of BH civil aviation by EC

In accordance with the ratified Multilateral European Common Aviation (ECAA) Agreement, European Commission announced the assessment in the field of civil aviation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The representatives of the EC will stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the period from 11 to 13 October 2010. They will visit the BHDCA Headquaters in Banja Luka, Sarajevo International Airport , B&H Airlines, ATC Unit Sarajevo and ATC Unit Banja Luka, as well as the BHDCA Regional Office in Sarajevo.
It is planned that representatives of the European Commission and the members of the EC expert team meet with the representatives of the Bosnia and Herzegovina mentioned above. The fields that are planned to be the subject of the assessment are contained in the Annex I and in the Annex V of the Protocol II of the ECAA Agreement.

Information on Contract signing as part the implementation of the Air Traffic Management Project in BiH
The contract on the supply of equipment that will enable Bosnia and Herzegovina to control its entire airspace thus making it unnecessary to continue with the engagement of air traffic control centers in Zagreb and Belgrade, was signed today with the renowned Spanish manufacturer INDRA SISTEMAS S.A., in Sarajevo.
The signatories to the contract were Director General Mr. Đorđe Ratkovica, on behalf of the Directorate of Civil Aviation, and Julio Martín Parra, on behalf of INDRA.
The full responsibility for and control of the airspace over Bosnia and Herzegovina

Paris (France), 20 April 2007 - The full responsibility for and control of the airspace over Bosnia and Herzegovina was transferred from the European Force (EUFOR) to the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 20 April 2007. This transfer became effective upon the signing of a Protocol between the Commander of EUFOR, Rear Admiral Hans-Jochen Witthauer, and the Minister of Transport and Communication of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Božo Ljubić, during a ceremony held at the European and North Atlantic Office of ICAO in Paris on 20 April 2007.
A Multilateral Agreement was signed

A Multilateral Agreement was signed in Luxembourg between Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Bulgaria, Republic of Croatia, European Union, Republic of Island, Macedonia, Kingdom of Norway, Serbia and Montenegro, Romania and UNMIK/Kosovo on establishment of European Common Aviation Area (ECAA Agreement). On behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina the Agreement was signed by Dr. Branko Dokić, Minister of Communication and Transport.
The objective of the Agreement is creation of the European Common Aviation Area (ECAA) and at the same time it provides for implementation of the Horizontal Agreement on Certain Aspects of Air Services, previously signed in Salzburg, R. Austria.
